The City of Angels experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Fans worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Online footage show countless of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses

Festivities started prior to the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of the city center on the previous evening.

The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” he said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.

The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
