Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
