Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
